There is not a lot of logic to the way it works around here but I have just realised that todays peking duck will mark 4th Asian day in a row, stir fry, fried rice, curry, peking duck.

I think we kind of slip into a winter season, where the fresh herbs are gone, and we look for inspiration elsewhere.

Having the freezer packed with the result of playing with hot smoking, is also a boost for the stir fries, they are a "meals in minutes" way of cooking that once again makes you think what exactly is so much more conventient about supermarket convenience food?
5 minutes dicing meat and veg, hot oil, dash of ginger, soy sauce and sesame oil and done. Maybe that's chinese cooking at its most basic and unimaginative, but it is healthy and tastey as well as quick.
