Something not seen very often around these parts but I just found a decent brown ale in Leader Price. O'Nelley's premium brown ale is about the closest thing I have found to "Newci' brown" since we moved here.

Needless to say I am having an afternoon sample.

I once got slightly tipsy on Newky Broon and handcuffed myself to a friend's friend's belt loop.

For some reason, when I read your thread title I heard it in my head in a strange and vaguely Geordie accent

When I was a student in Reims we used to drink something called Jenlain, which was 7francs and the cheapest beer going. It came in a 75cl bottle with a cork, and tasted quite like Newci' Brown, although a heck of a lot stronger. Very nice beer in fact.

That brings back memories.
Nice to drink. Awful repercussions on the digestive tract!
