Advice please. I have a large container that (until last weekend) contained geraniums. I have earmarked it for cucumber or squash this year. Will I need to completely change the compost, or will the new crop be happy with just a top up? The remaining compost looked pretty good to me. I suppose I'm talking about crop rotation.

Thanks

For cukes or squashes (both heavy feeders) I would say that new compost is essential. I would add a load of pelleted chicken manure or similar as well.
