Here's a link to 50 (yes, fifty!) downloadable-at-no-cost e-books from the United States Department of Agriculture. Vintage, they're from the late1930s to 1960s so not current techniques. The quick look I took at a few of them seem to have practical suggestions for basic matters such as housing poultry etc. Practical, farm-related information.

Enjoy.

The university hosting the ebooks is having issues at the moment. What a nuisance! Shall I let you know when they're back up?

O.K. Click on a title that appeals to you - Housecleaning Made Easier, perhaps? (I love the suggestion about keeping dust out of the house in summer when windows are open, by oiling or watering the road - having the community attend to this or doing it oneself. But I digress.)

As I said - click on a title. On the page thus opened there are some icons on the right. Click on "all pages."

Reduced size images of the pages will appear. Click on page one which will open to full screen. Then use the forward / back arrows to move through the booklet.

Do hope you each find something of interest.

But hey, free is good. And it is interesting to read this advice, then use what is relevant.
