Always wanting to know more, I've just signed up for this free course in Solar Energy.
No interview to pass either. Open to anybody, the course starts 16th September. Back to School for me

Interesting.

mathematical skills as integration and differentiation are assumed to be known.

I had not even heard those words since I left uni in 198*

I suspect (and hope) they will only be used in some explanations as background knowledge - I can't imagine there would be any calculating involving them as coursework.

I suspect there will be quite a lot of maths given the course overview. I think it's more advanced than designing PV solar arrays using modular components.

Hmmm. I used to be good at those. Is not coming flooding back so far.

Do the course. Crowd source the difficult bits to here.

The ideas behind calculus are straight forward enough; the notation can be mildly disconcerting

I'm just hoping that little bit of brain that might just hold some of my A
level maths can be brought back to life after decades of neglect.

Still as it's an online course there is plenty of time to look things up in between 'classes'
I've just found on a low shelf in my bookcase (hidden behind a metal filing cabinet) a copy of Pure Mathematics: bk. 1 - Backhouse & Houldsworth (1971 Edition). Now there's a blast from the past.

Ooh, some free maths videos, including calculus.

I never dreamt I'd be sharing a link so exciting as a maths video
