First phase of the groundworks (all we could afford) is complete, that's basically access road, site levelling etc, I reckon they've moved at least 1200 tonnes of soil.

No pics unfortunately, been too busy

I was wondering what was happening with that. Don't forget to get pics of the rest of it though. Must feel good to have actually made some sort of start.

The kids absolutely love "dirt mountain", we had youngest birthday party yesterday all the kids were occupied with the mountain. Kids are meant to play with dirt.

There was an article on Woman's Hour this week about birthday parties and how ridiculously expensive they are.

No-one mentioned biulding a house as a way of providing a mud-mountain for a party.

We were saying last night how easy it is to keep kids occupied with a barn full of hay or a pile of dirt.

Not a good time in the build to run out of cash.......

Not that there is ever a good time to run out during a build.

Best of luck! Did that once, years and years ago. Gave me an ulcer but the house still stands.

I'm now renovating the bathroom. Will know once the tiles are fully removed if there is water damage. I think not. Will avoid an ulcer this time!

Yay for groundworks!

Hope it's the start of many forward steps and not too many pauses.

Mortgage offer received and accepted.

Started finalising details of me internal doors and staircases with a fella down the road, should have sorted the glazing package by tonight so builder should be able to provide a firm schedule next week before restarting.
