I went to post in the Word Association thread and got this message.............

Could not insert new word matches

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1146 Table 'phpbb_rivercottage.rcsearch_wordmatch' doesn't exist

Does anybody know why?
I saw this morning the site was down but I haven't been on the computer today so I dont know the state of play.

Seems somewhat broken on the site, it has been said that despite the error, messages are posted. but that does not seem to be always the case.

don't know about anybody else but i am still getting the debug thing of the river cottage site.................. went to pm lowlander to ask if it was sorted and it came back and said she didn't exist!!!! somehow i don't think she would allow that anybody got any ideas?

The whole forum is a giant database, a database of users, one of posts, , one of threads, one of searchable keywords, etc...
All these databases will likely be using the 'SQL' programming language/engine - which is saying "can't".
The whole database system seems to have gone screwy. IMHO, the longer it limps along, the worse the data corruption is going to get.

As to why it ain't been fixed, dunno.
Or why its left to run itself into a real tangle, rather than at least being 'frozen' (no new posts allowed) while the problems are fixed.
Or when it might be sorted.

Computers, who'd have 'em, eh?

personally i hate them.................... i wonder if it was connected to the auction then? i bet there is someone being run ragged trying to sort it all out and i am glad i'm not him

This is the odd thing really. Freezing things, fixing tables, should not be a vast amount of work, and you really do need to call a halt and work on it. Left to its own devices you can end up losing a lot.

presumably someone IS trying to fix it but then as it doesn't work we might not know does that sound sensible to you? i suppose they can put some sort of message on the home page as you get in .....................
