I have a friend who has found 100 or so dumped tyres half buried in pasture land - she has got them out of the ground but now we are stuck with what to do with them. Getting them taken away here in Spain is not possible (we think but will explore)

Someone suggested using them for a shelter/store building - any suggestions welcomed - they vary in size from tractor to car. We want to use them responsibly as she doesn't have the money to pay for their disposal.

Bound together they make good retaining walls for earthworks etc. They used some to block the hole in the river flood banks when they burst a couple of years ago.

raised fish pond using the tyres as a ring mound packed with earth and stones (doesn't need to be rammed of compacted) then just add liner and water (and fish/plants etc.).

There must be a system for getting rid of them. Ask at the local tyre fitters they might be able to shift them. But it might cost. I thing the environmental disposal charge here is 50p - £1 per tyre.

I saw an eco build on the box where they painstakingly stuffed them with soil to make walls.

Not to be recommended unless you have lots of time and you're very fit or can get lots of fit volunteers who won't get disheartened after their first tyre stuffing.

filled with earth ace walls or cornish style hedge
good for weighting down big tarps
cut into bits they are standard third world shoe soles
planters ,place fill plant or turn em inside out on one side of the wheel if still on metal
reuse is nice

I've got it in my head that tires can make good artificial reefs: provide shelter for fish, etc.

Not a DIY job though.

I'm told they are very good for growing potatoes in: add tyres & fill as the plant grows.

I use tractor tyres as raised beds and compost bins.
