Hi there and welcome to the new Downsizer Traders' Forum.
One of the original ideas behind this site was to try and offer help and practical assistance to members wishing to advertise their products and services.
Regular posters on the other forums quickly establish an on-line idendity and credibility for themselves. If you've not done so already, please register yourself as a member and start interacting!
Send us an email, explaining a little about yourself and the services that you offer. Our requirements for advertising are not very stringent, but we do require that you have built a reputation on our forums that you would be concerned about losing, and that you have a general belief in supporting non-intensive food production and fair trade generally.
If you need help drafting text for your advertisement, we can also try and help you with that. Just contact me (Lozzie) by PM.
A note to customers: Whilst Downsizer vets our advertisers as far as possible, any dealings between our members constitutes a private contract and you should take all normal precautions when making a purchase, handing over credit-card details etc. Any losses incurred as a result of dealing with our advertisers or complaints about service/quality of goods need to be resolved by dealing directly with the advertiser concerned.

I think Miss Lozzie is working her way through them bit by bit. She's worked out the adding/invitation thing as far as I can tell, which is more than I have. Who've you asked so far, Dame L? Are they responding or do you need a pointier stick? |

So far, have invited nine people. Please, make suggestions of other people you feel should be in here.
Having said that, RoryD and I have been PMing all morning trying to figure out why he still cannot see the group on his machine. Can anyone enlighten him (and me)? |

That could be the problem. Did Ed test it for us? Could he see this forum? |

Those invited so far (apart from the obvious ones posting here) are:
Alsion, Fee, Jema, Jerky M, Mochyn, RobR, RoryD and Stacey. I've also encouraged Paula, the woman who makes/finishes children's clothes, to tell us some more about herself here on the forums. I think Stacey would like a banner, but isn't sure how to make one.

That's what I feared, Sean ...  Eddie is not a good indicator of anything really, other than the current level of debauchery amongst Downsizers.
Update: Stacey cannot find the forum, either. And it isn't apearing in my "Jump to: (select a forum)" jobbie at the bottom right corner of the page. |

In the absence of someone nice messing about in the admin section, you'll have to make do with someone nasty.
The forum was set up before the group; so it was set to "moderators only" view, which would explain why Lozzie could see it.
I've set it to be a private forum, hidden; and given the Traders user group permission to see it. I assume this means normal posting permissions too.
However I don't think either Eddie or A Lamprey should have been able to see any of it and still shouldn't, could someone check that? Or maybe Humph?
By the way unless you want all the mystery and enigma surrounding Eddie and our mate A. you might want to remove this thread Lozzie!
Finally I don't think it will appear in "jump to" list on the bottom right; I don't think that any hidden/private forums do that. |
