There used to be itinerant slaughter men but no longer. Why would there be as the passage you qutoe says its not legal???

The passage says it is illegal for them to kill and dress, but that to kill only is a grey area.

But to work on unlicenced premises is also illegal even for a licenced killer. Also the only rule I can find about home slaughter say that the owner must kill it not a third party. I guess till some one with lots of money take this to court to fight em we will never know the legal position.

You I digress, have you written to your MP, AM or Eurocrat for your area and asked them if there are any grants for your business proposals.

Not bothered as I dont want the grants or the level of "input" that they would want nore do i want to be the size that I would have to be to make it work. I just want to be able to kill my own animals without them having to leave here as & when I need them. Currently I "have" to take at least 6 pigs or its to costly to do. I would rarther do one at a time as I need them. This way I would be able to sell more as fresh meat & produce & less as frozen (not that there is any thing wrong with frozen).

PS
Rob R is your slaughter house & butchers just that or an EEC cutting plant?

Likewise, it is frustrating I know. We used to have a lovely family run slaughterhouse that you could take your animal or animals to (after booking in but when YOU wanted to take them) and they would be killed first thing in the morning.

They were hung to your preference and butchered or left whole (again up to you).

Maybe I should have never asked and enjoyed Pork!!!
Only kidding I know now so will have to politely decline. This will scupper his plans a bit thought I would imagine as this is how he was going to get by with all his produce. Half for himslef and half for someone else to pay for it...
Darn shame as I know we have no slaughterhouses anywhere near us either.

Were do everyone else take them then? But i guess if its much over a 1/2 hour jorney each way it will cost more than one pig is worth once its been killed & butchered.
