You know the one's, Gooey sponge, I mean really moist and gooey, the type that make you Salivate even when you are full and you have to have a piece.

With thick Chocolate in the middle and a thick Chocolate coating that when you eat it with your fingers gets you all messy, and Kids get it everywhere even up there nose and in there ears

So you have all got the Cake in your head now, yes?

Anyone got a recipe? It's Jessica's 4th Birthday next Saturday 27th and i want to make one

do you have any nigella recipe books, they are always good places to look for this sort of cake

Oh great, just looked on uktv food and some others nothing there.

I also want one that one of you lot has tried and tested cos i trust you lot.

...ok there is a chocolate mousse cake
dense chocolate loaf cake (both are from nigellas book)

or i have a buttermilk birthday cake (not sure where this is from)

double fudge chocolate cake and double fudge chocolate cake icing to go with it (canadian recipe )

Double fudge chocolate cake

4oz unsweetened chocolate : 1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup coccoa : 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour:
1 cup boiling water : 2 tsp baking powder:
1 cup unsalted butter : 1 tsp baking soda :
2 1/4 cups granulated sugar : 1 cup buttermilk:
3 eggs.

preheat oven to 350f. butter 2 deep 9inch cake tins (springform best)
line with wax paper.
place chocolate and coccoa in bowl and pour over boiling water, stir to melt, then cool slightly.
cream butter in large bowl, beat in sugar gradually, add eggs one at a time , beating well after each addition. Then add vanilla and melted chocolate mixture.

sift flour, baking powder and baking soda into a separate bowl. add to butter mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix only until blended. Divide batter between the two tins . Bake for 40-45 mins until the centre springs back when lightly pressed. Allow to cool in pans on wire racks before inverting onto wire racks and removing the wax paper while still warm.

cool before icing with the Double Fudge Chocolate Cake Icing

8 oz bittersweet chocolate (plain/dark )
1/4 cup coccoa
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 cups icing sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
place the chocolate, coccoa, milk and butter on top of a double boiler. heat gently over simmering water until melted. Mixture should be smooth.Cool slightly, beat in icing sugar and vanilla. Chill until spreadable. Using to sandwich the layers together and frost the top and sides .

= very rich cake sufficient to satisfy the greatest chocoholics !

i also have a chocolate topped margarita cheesecake .....but its not for a 4yr olds birthday .... 18th yes

Sorry not the worlds best Cake maker I have got a 12inch Square one so to make to of them, what quantities would I have to do? Triple the mixture?

I was working on the 2x12=24, 3x9=27 does it work like that?
