It's all new I know, but I usually try a new veg each year that I haven't grown before. Last year I tried Soya beans and this year I've put in Scorzonera.

Anybody else being adventurous with new stuff?

A new and exuberant crop of weeds? Although most of them are the usual suspects, I admit! Other than that, nothing hugely exciting - I'll be more than happy with ordinary veg, if we get any. I have planted paprika peppers, as well as the usual sweet kind (Which are new for me, too, although I grew chillies before) a few new kinds of squashes, and another attempt at loofah's (my third) too many tomatoes to remember. Calvo nero is new for me, and oats. Also mange tout and borlotti beans. The nice thing about having so much space, now is that I can grow lots of new things. However, there is a lot more room for weeds!

Leeks for the first time ever, and it's the first time I've grown tomatoes from seed.

And you'll never be without them again.

First year for Yacon and also Scorzonera here. We're also trying many new varieties including a climbing courgette.

First attempts at rainbow chard, PSB, spaghetti squash and yellow climbing mange tout peas.

Don't really have room for any of them so only a few of each.

actually I don't have room for half the stuff that's sown so far, front garden getting more use and the polyboxes my handmademeat orders came in are being pressed into service

Snap! how are yours doing? I've only got pathetic little seedlings at the moment.

I had melons but they died, some new squashes for fun mainly (crown prince and a spaghetti squash) and Romanescue broccolli.

Achocha. Got them from the Heritage Seed Library after trying them at college last year. Still in module trays at the moment, and as of this morning yet to be found by snails.

I grew Asparagus Pea a couple of years back, and to be honest they're more useful for their looks than for cooking.
