Milkmaid yours look lovely. I must admit I do love my tame sheep even when they hassle me! Does make it easier doing stuff with them too. I even have three who like being petted, which is a bit bizarre. Friends/family think my flock is odd because they run towards you when you go into the paddock rather than fleeing as most sheep would.

Lorrainelovesplants I love the name Eglet, so cute! Bay is going to be a comical name when she gets really big

GSHP I like your sheep, especially the black ones, are they Zwartbles?

What is it about lambs that is soo adorable, all these pics are making me broody for lambs! (No lambs here this year )

Cheers
Alex

Who is the zwartbles' friend in that pic? Looks a bit Shetland-like. Zwartbles look quite big sheep from that pic. Lovely too.

Zwartbles are big sheep but quiet to handle so not a problem. Her friend is a zwarbles cross suffolk. One of last year's reject lambs, borrowed from a friend to keep Annie company until she lambs

Has anyone else had bottle fed lambs stuck in the cat flap? Or left the door open to find them upstairs on the bed curled up with the cats?

Cade lambs or sometimes suckies.
We were persuaded to have one when we first came to where we live now. We quickly had to have a child safety gate fitted to the back door to stop her from coming into the house. As she grew into an adult, this proved to be insufficient for the job and as people have said, our little 'suckie' became a real pain. I eventually swopped her and she moved to a large farm away from us. I did however have the satisfaction of knowing that she went on to rear several generations and that she became a favourite with her new owner.

we only have eight sheep but they are all cades and are real pets. They always come for a scratch or a carrot. We keep them to help with the excess grazing, they are brilliant at eating young docks .

Because they have all all been poorly when we had them they have all spent at least the first night in the kitchen before heading for the stable. I had one last year that loved to cuddle up to the labradors in their bed.

The plan originally was to eat them but Minty & Saucy are now 10 years old

No, but we looked after one of our neighbours ones last year occassionally while they were out and it frequently used to come into the kitchen and drink out of the dogs bowl. I have a photo somewhere of it staring at its reflection in the oven door.

Ten little pet lambs skipping in a line,
One of them got watery mouth and then there were nine.

Nine little pet lambs waiting by the gate,
One got Salmonella so then there were eight.

Eight little pet lambs, heard the engine revvin'
But they didn't see the tractor, so now there's only seven.

Seven little pet lambs playing games and tricks,
One hanged in wire netting so now they're down to six.

Six little pet lambs, glad to be alive,
Tried swimming in a water trough and now there's only five.

Five little pet lambs bleating at the door.
Farmer lost his temper and which brought them down to four.

Four little pet lambs, as sweet as they could be
One ate a bag of barley meal and then there were three

Three little pet lambs, wondering what to do,
One set on a ewe who went and sat on it, s that left only two.

Two little pet lambs, having lots of fun,
One died of bloody awkwardness, and then there was one.

One little pet lamb, surprisingly got fat - so we put him in the freezer and that's the end of that!
