I've only recently started using firefox, but have really got into the customisable search box at the top.

If you extract and copy these files into the firefox searchplugins folder (probably C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins) and restart firefox, it should load the new search.

There's a basic search of these forums and one for the BBC recipe database.

Neil, Do you find that not all your normal pages will open with firefox, or that just me. I have found some, like this one are very fast, but others do not open at all.

sometimes the pop ups are blocked (you get a cross at the top of the page) if you click on the cross you can view the popup.
I have opera on mine as a backup browser so if something is not working with firefox,it usually will with opera.
I refuse to use IE as it is so vulnerable to virus's

Are these generally faster to load.

Since I've downloaded firefox I now can't get about 6 sites at all on firefox or IE

I can't get ebay, hotmail, Harrypotter, to name three!

Proberbly. I have 5 months more of my years contract with them, but the price I pay is good. What other broad band do others use, and how much do you pay.

I can get these sites on AOL browser, but not firefox or ie.

We use BT/Yahoo. It's about £20/month. That's with a 1MB connection and unlimited downloads. If you already have the broadband modem then I think it's cheaper. As far as I can see, all the suppliers make their pricing structure as comples as possible, just to make comparisons difficult.

We are paying £19.,99 with NTL for a 750kbs connection. I gather they will upgrade this to 2mbs soon.

Some sites need flash player installed to work
Harry potter does (my daughter is mad on HP)
Some sites need you to allow cookies
some use java script
You can enable cookies in tools/options in firefox and you can download flash player (just google for it)

Thanks for that. I am not at home at the moment, but I will have a look at all the settings when I get back.

One tip for Firefox, is that you really need to be on 1.00. I only realised a few days ago, that I was on 1.00 (preview)
