Once I'm out of my house-trousers, I've got to check what's come out in mine! There were three dry last night and loads more squeaking.

My incubators are on but there's nothing in them. On Sunday I'm putting some very dark welsummer eggs in and I'll be topping up with eggs from one of my pens of LS.
I had some of these Welsummer eggs last year and the incubator went ape shit on me, so I lost them. Keep your fingers crossed for me this time around. The other problem with them is that the shells are so dark that they are impossible to candle.

The bottom element in mine has just stopped working. I am not happy.

You've worn it out.
To be on the safe side this year, I have two incubators on the go and I'll split the eggs, so that i don't have all my eggs in the one basket. I'm not putting enough eggs in this time around to fill them both to capacity.

Candled my abacots again. Lost one of the 10 originals. Just stopped growing and evidence of a blood line on one edge. Others are doing their duck boogie when the light goes on, which I love to see!!

I've googled those ducks and they are a very attractive breed.

Looking good Pookie

BTW, your Maran's which survived the fox last year are doing well. The Cockerel is particularly happy!

It looks as though you've had a very good hatch of LS.

Here's my latest temptation. I've never bought eggs off Ebay and I said I never would but?

I've just noticed that the vendors photographs are five years old and i can't help but wonder how he's progressed them and if they are still the same standard.
