ooh jolly good hatch then
I have just one still in the incy, wobbled in the water test, but not pipped, so will give that one a little longer.
More broodies than I can shake a stick at, and now short of eggs
shame none of yours has gone broody, it's much less work, but, there is a 4 day window from hatching to foisting don't forget, so still a chance!
Fingers crossed you will get one too. |

no doubt i shall have a broody on day 5
yup 'hand reared' it makes is sound so much more homey - and they are hand reared - the plus side of no broody is chicks to play with. usually end up with very friendly chickens! |

Too cute!
I could only get one chicken-in-a-basket. I suppose you could call it portion control

Yep, he's got two others in the brooder who are a couple of days younger than him. All were ignored by the broodies when they hatched.
He loves to be taken out of the brooder to play though, fluttering about on our head and shoulders. |

This one hatched on Saturday, one of Bebo's Light Sussex. It now has another friend the same and a Maran from Pookie.

This little tyke was born today:

He/She (probably a he, knowing our luck) just popped out of an Indian Runner egg we picked up from Chez 4 weeks ago. Fingers crossed for the remaining 5 eggs...
Just wondering how long it's going to take 'mum' (a Pekin/Araucana cross, also from Chez ;) to notice the webbed feet and flat bill? |

Yeah, sure.
Ducklings are very cute aren't they but I'm not having ducks. Six eggs due to hatch in a couple of weeks. Hope nothing else goes broody again this year. |
