I was wondering if anyone has a piece of 4x4 untreated wood that they could send me please?
Happy to pay for postage, unless it's some ridiculous amount and then I'll just go and buy some wood.
Thanks. |

I have a pile of sawdust, just add PVA and think of it as DIY wood? |

How big a piece of 4x4? I haven't got any, I'm just trying to narrow down the search. |

this is the sort of thing where a street level "wood stash" would be really good. I bet all of us have offcuts that you would just like to see "used". |

Have you got a timber yard/ builders merchant near you?
as they may be able to help with an offcut.
I think it might be cheaper to buy than post anyway |

Could you use a log or driftwood - if it's the sort of bee box I am thinking of, they would do nicely. |

Or a lot of bits of bamboo tied together, with something over the top to keep the rain out; an offcut of guttering maybe. |

I've got a big log from a pine we chopped down. It's been laying around in the back garden for about 3 years. Would that be ok to modify? |

Nick, I figure it's inches. 4 foot or meters would be a hugh bee box. |

Yep - depends on your design and what you want - any ideas? |

Gawber,
I was just going to go with a square and then put a little roof on, which I think I will do using some of the log with the bark on. |
