Yes, I thought he was great in that role (I loved the Neverwhere TV series), so I have very high hopes he will be just as memorable as the 12th Doctor

Tucker's Law

I hear there is demand for him to play it as this character...

All this talk of Dr Who reminds me of when I was a kid.
We used to hide behind the sofa every Saturday evening.
Nothing to do with Dr Who – it was when the rent man used to call.

Will you be here all week? And should I try the veal?

So that I can stay in character, would you pass me my cape?

He's a brilliant choice after David and Matt - a fantastic actor with an amazing pedigree and strong enough to take over from Matt - I also like the fact that he's bucking the 'ever younger' trend although I'm sure many many teeny fangirls will be very disappointed!

totally with you here Joanne. I think he has physical characteristics that are kind of reminiscent of some of the previous doctors as well. Not that this has ever been a consideration before but if you look at him you can see shades of William Hartnell, Jon Pertwee, Sylvestor McCoy and David Tennant in his appearance. I'm also really glad they are going older again. I'm sure he'll make an excellent Doctor, I just hope that the whole Malcolm Tucker thing fades away rapidly and gives him a chance to play the Doctor instead.

I can watch Who in telly again...!
I couldn't stand the previous one, everything in him irritated me..his face, his style of talking...moving...even off role he always seem to be so full of himself.

Bill Bailey is brilliant. We went to see him a couple of months ago and he was very good. The end of his show was also very touching.

I'm pleased they chose an older actor...but as an older actor myself, i know they would NEVER have chosen an older FEMALE actor...we are pretty much, with a few notable exceptions, invisible

They didn't choose a female actor because the Doctor is male - A woman wouldn't be the Doctor!

I would hate to see a woman as the Doctor - it would just destroy the whole dynamic! It's not because a woman isn't as good as a man but that the Doctor is male.

I'd much rather they find a Female Timelord such as Romana who has locked up her 'timelordness' to escape the Time War and have her as her own character rather than having a woman as the Doctor just to be PC!!
