I have a terminal window open

Following these instructions, but when typing the first line apparently "cd desktop" doesn't exist. I looked for where the .run file was saved, and tried "cd name of that folder" but that doesn't exist either.

Riiiight.

Ok, the line I get back is

bash: cd: desktop: No such file or directory

HPLIP can be found in the Ubuntu Software Centre.

(I've sent my dad to the shop for a new printer, I'm being watched over my shoulder which drives me banananas. Tried connecting printer to this Windows laptop, still not printing, so...)

I'll still need to run/install hplip for the new printer they want though...

I've got the hplip-3.14.1.run file downloaded, but the instrutions for running it aren't working.

Absolutely brilliant. I've just screwed up my alternate Linux installation trying to un and re install HPLIP to find out what the problems might be - rising to VP's bait (damn him).
