I had to smile to myself when I saw this post - when we kids my dad had an allotment near the canal which had lots of pine trees along the boundary and the pine needles used to lodge in the curly kale, my ma used to go mad as hard as she tried boiled pine needles were still tough! Trying to get four kids to eat greens was hard enough. L

I grew flowering sprouts a couple of years ago but wouldn't bother again. They were a real faff to get off the stalk and then they didn't taste any better than "proper" sprouts (which I love). Also, there weren't that many on the stalk.

Thanks. I shan't bother then - I'm tight on space as it is. Any sprout variety recommendations?
