"Green" outdoor lightingAs I watered my hanging baskets the other evening, using gravity-fed rainwater, I got to pondering the front of the house. The garden looked really nice, illuminated as it was, by a 500w lamp. It is on a PIR, and it does go off after a couple of minutes, but I got to thinking that there must be a cheaper alternative.
At work, we sell a "cool to the touch" worklight, on a tubular stand. It uses a 42 energy saving bulb, that throws out the equivalent of 260w, but it can't be attached to the outside wall, at least not without some modification. It's also £40. I can't really afford to spend the money and then end up breaking the light while trying to adapt it to fit.
So, does anyone know where I can buy an energy saving floodlight? Or is that a contradiction in terms?
[EDIT] Forgot to add, the brighter the better. I'd like at least the equivalent of 300w.
