'Orrible Weather Last Night

Reading some scary headlines about South Wales et al.

Everyone ok?
sean

I was worse in the day here yesterday and the forecast says it's going to clear up from lunchtime. Not particularly looking forwards to the walk to school though.
mochyn

Just cloudy and a little breezy here now but, ye gods, there's been so much rain over the weekend!
marigold

Saturday night was worst here with very strong wind and rain. It's raining this morning, but the wind has dropped, thank goodness, and it's very mild.
judith

Still raining Sad
The ducks are happy.
Jamanda

Horrible here too. And the drain outside the kitchen is blocked.
woodsprite

Yesterday was dreadful but it calmed slightly last night and is beginning to look a little brighter this morning. The upshot? We now know which windows leak and which part of the yard floods at this little farmhouse. Shocked Very Happy

It would have been OK really. I'd like to say a big thankyou to the chap in the Audi TT whose journey was obviously so important that he had to drive through the large puddle in the road at about 40mph, without his help I would only have been able to get damp.

it's more wet here than excessively windy.

He'll get his reward in heaven Very Happy

The farm looks like a tornado has gone through it this morning. Our metal chairs in the garden had blown over, and the lid was off the chicken food Mad All around the farmyard were bits of plastic bags and stuff Sad
Nanny

surveyed the damage this morning from what was a wild day up here yesterday

6 panes of glass in the greenhouses broken out of the ten that came out...i think the force of the wind shook the metal frame that didn't move but the glass did

several of my net screens round the veg plots torn asunder

2 flooded stables yesterday

goats miserable even though they were dry

11 horses in this morning either with wet rugs or just shivering

managed to find all the chickens despite the fact that yesterday at dusk they were nowhere to be seen when i was looking for them in the heaving rain and lightening all round that lit up the garden so i could see the poult that gave me the slip and refused to come in until it was ready which meant i had to leave the back porch door open till just about dark...i had been running round with a fishing net through the lightening trying to catch it and it went round and round the garden......i was rather rude to it.....

more water than i have seen round here for a while, the muck heap field is under water and there are rivulets going through the muck heap field into the river field and down the slope to the river...the culvert through the yard overflowing

other than that, not much has changed
lettucewoman

wentout about an hour ago whilst it was still chucking it down...two local lanes almost flooded across and a drain in the middle of the road spouting a selection of fountains from 1 - 3 feet high!!

Stopped raining now but is seriously wet..and virtually no leaves left on the trees Sad
ros

think the wind is getting up here now.
A lid from one of the water butts just flew at the lounge window and scared us half to death!
