3G router for USB donglesI have a surplus router that works on standard land lines AND USB dongles (auto switches between them as avaliable) on 3G from orange, virgin & three.Can be used as a back up to your land line using a dongle or use just with the dongle via its settings. Check out THIS for full details. I use one of these so that my laptop is not tied to the USB extension cable & I can then use it any where in the accomodation. I can the site the dongle in the best possition for reception & the use the laptop in the best place for me. Also allows multipul people to use it at the same time and non USB enabled devices to access the internet via the dongle using either wireless or the CAT5 RJ45 standard net work ports. So things like XBox can use your dongle. You could even share with the next house if you wanted to via the wireless (if you dont just hide the identifier & use the security settings) or a long cat 5 cable. Richard |
