A little typing helpCould someonetell me how to change font size in the forum - I can see the buttons but can't work out how to do it  (no rush)

Highlight the bit you want to change with your mouse, then click the down arrow on the font size box, and select the size you want 
Boo!
It'll put the code round the words - if you press quote on this post you'll see it's put code round the word Boo!

Ah but when i do this - just as you say, the highlighted word stops being highlighted??? This is some abberation in my computer default isn't it and possibly a good thing as I can be a little heavy handed with the emoticons!

When you highlight the text, press on the left hand button on your mouse and when you get to the end of the text you want to highlight (which should now be highlighted in blue) let go of the mouse button. It should stay highlighted blue...
Then click on the font size button as Penny says to select your font size

Nope - the highlighted bit then disappears - it doesn't stay highlighted.

Or, type it in manually.
I've added *s to stop it working, but, try...
[*size=*24] HUGE! [*/size*] and remove the *s
ie HUGE!
