A Nice Day OutI've persuaded Kaz that we should have a good night out on Friday in Ludlow and as a special treat, for me and not for her that is, that we should travel from Ludlow down to Ross on Wye on the Saturday and visit the NPA sale of pigs thats being held at the mart there. There will be at least 70 pigs forward.
I know from his post that Neath Chris will be attending, is there anyone else who fancies putting in an appearance? The sale starts at 11.00 am.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Rob and Ixy were going to come to this, but he was hoping she'd forget....
I might make the effort; I'm short of some weaners right now.

What are weaners ? It should be a nice day.

Ixy

Nooo I haven't forgotten, as much as you and Rob wish for that to be so

Think will only be breeding stock Nick, not sure if any weaners will be there.
Catalogues are out now, around 90 pigs entered.
We have 3 welsh going, our show boar from this year, and a 14week july boar and 13 week gilt that can be shown next year.

We'd like a really good new saddleback boar and a tamworth boar if I'm allowed I thought the BPA show would be a good place to find the bext but i dunno...loooong way to take the trailer and I'm not sure we can do it.

I do know of a really good Tamworth boar, we have been showing him for somebody all year who has been let down at last minute by a buyer. Won quite a bit at the bigger shows.
Have you tried buying a SB boar off farm, know some good breeders up north if you want any numbers to try.

Ixy

Yes I've been looking for a (good) SB boar for a while but people are rubbish at getting back to you! Thanks for the offer but we're members of the club as it is so if all else fails we can go crying to them
Re: the tamworth, transport might be a problem - whereabouts is he?

The Tamworth is down in Gwent. Its the famous Hamlet the BBC Wales boar. Can give you the details of Liz the owner if you want.
Some good SB breders in Chesire who are taking to Ross i think.

Gah, like I say it's a loooong way to drag our driver! If it was me I'd be happy to drive anywhere

Oo we are over in ludlow from thursday, didnt realise it was the pig show in Ross as well, went last year. Not sure the whole family wants to go, perhaps I could persuade them to go via there to the town itself.
