A Nice Neighbour.I went fishing last evening without much luck but unlike me, my OH did. I got home at about 7.00pm and wanting to suprise me, Kaz quickly ushered me to one of my chicken pens. We've lived here for 21 years now and we've never seen one of these, what a pleasant suprise it was.
Going from the nice bulge in its midriff, our visitor has just made a nice meal of something. I've counted up my chicks and thankfully they are all there. I'm hoping that our new neighbour decides to stop in the neighbourhood. What a fantastic creature, it was easily 3ft long.

How interesting that the hens keep away from it. They are usually such vicious creatures with anything potentially edible.

oh golly gosh you've just put me all about, i'm now refusing to go anywhere near the chicken pen ... can't abide snakes .. beautiful as they are... i don't wish them any harm but i'd rather be oblivious to their existance and they can be to mine

Its a grass snake dp not a python.
We checked again last night, same time same place but no luck. I reckon she'll be sleeping off her meal for a few days, but apparently they can be quite territorial, so we are hoping to se this beautiful creature again.
