A question for the scythers amongst youAny good?
Link
It seems incredibly cheap.
Collection only or I'd be tempted.

Difficult to say. It looks like a cheaper copy of the Austrian scythes and the snath doesn't look like it's contoured. It could be good or a pile of pants. At that price it may be worth investigating.

I don't know about the blade; but the handle doesn't look as good as the Austrian one Arvo bought from Simon Fairlie - you can alter the grips on that depending on your height and that is supposed to make it better for your back.

Gil will know, though.

We've got several scythes, including two from Simon Fairlie, - (we've had a bit of trouble with one of his as well)
This one does look very straight and obviously you can't adjust the handle. Maybe it comes in different sizes. You could ask. Difficult to say whether it is any good until you get hold of it.
Certainly it is very cheap. A snath from Simon is 49£. A blade about 32£. Here you get a snath (hardwood), a blade and a stone. Hmmm.
If you do buy it, let us know what it is like.

I wont be buying as it's collection only & I imagine I would get pulled over by at leat one constabulary with it over my shoulder cycling from Yorkshire to Cornwall.
Thought it might be of interest to anyone nearer.
It says in the listing they do an adjustable tubular metal snath as well but don't quote a price.
Could be a good entry level for the non serious amongst us.

Agree with vegplot. At that price worth a go even if all it does is attack nettles.
