Abu Zaad's Ful Medames

This is yummy.

500g dried whole fava beans soaked overnight
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
salt and black pepper
juice of one lemon
at least a tsp of ground cumin
100ml of tahini
chopped cloves of garlic

Boil the fava beans in fresh water, then simmer until tender. Keep checking it doesn't take the two hours the recipe recommends.

Drain them and then add all of the above.

Serve warm with added chickpeas, parsley and olive oil.
