Alpacas

I have two redundant alpacas to sell. One black female and one brown castrated male no longer needed to protect my sheep so are available to protect someone else's. They are unregistered and four years old £350 each. They must go together and I can deliver within a reasonable distance of north west Essex. Please pm me or call 07768 368053.

Would love 2 alpacas - but we live in France!

Sorry this doesn't help you, but do you have any alpaca-contacts in France?
Faithmead

Ohhhhhhhh... I WISH, I WISH, I WISH.......but completely the opposite side of Britain!

You'd need an abbattoir to take them
Essex Gal

Hi,
Pricey, you could eat them but they don't carry a lot of flesh so proabably not worth the slaughter cost.
wellington womble

Fibre is probably worth more than the meat.

I hope they find good homes soon, because I am really awfully tempted, and himself would have a fit. He nearly divorced me over the chickens.

It's such a good job I haven't got a telly.

They look like lovely coloured animals, Essexgal. What's their fibre quality like (I really want some, but himself would probably feed me to them!)
Frewen Feltmaker

@WW - I felted a bowl with some of the alpaca you gave me tonight - I only had to look at it and it started felting Cool
sean

All natural fibres are terrified of you nowadays though. Anything that isn't actually made of polypropylene felts in your presence.
Frewen Feltmaker

Ha ha Laughing and I get the heat gun out for that stuff Cool Laughing

I had to get a "bowl" sample done quickly as I'm taking a bunch of stuff to sample, and the Alpaca just melted together love5

Alison,
No I haven't bred from her as I bought them to protect my sheep I didn't intend to breed them. Thanks for asking.

I have alpacas in with my chickens and ducks for the same reason.
Essex Gal

C'mon they ARE still available = let's say £600 for both. I took the last store lambs to market today ( no grass see). The first time that I haven't been able to finish lambs by the end of October, no-rain = no grass so no alternative.
Dogwalker

Plenty of rain, plenty of grass,
No money!
