And the floods brought us...Fish.
Previously our pond was home to plenty of newts, frogs & insects, but we now have fish, after the land has drained & pumped out ready for building again, nestling in the bottom of the manhole were a whole bunch of little fish, the bigger ones about two inches long. I didn't have the camera with me so no photos, but we relocated eight of them to the pond ten yards away. There's still a load of tiny ones too small to catch by hand that will get moved later.

Not stickleback or minnow by the look of them, but I have no idea what.

Mostly orange, but there might be some black ones missing, too. It's a bit hard to spot them even at the best of times...

Well I think it's the last time I'll ever see those eight now- they were hard enough to spot in a puddle (dark green)
