Any of you with kids at university may find this interestingLOOKING FOR WORK EXPERIENCE THIS SUMMER?
HOW ABOUT A MONTH IN THE SUN WORKING ON A FRENCH RADIO STATION?
The search is on for up to a dozen graduate media students to help run an English language news and information service for expatriates and holiday- makers on Radio 4, a community radio station in South West France. It's not paid work but accommodation will be provided and transport costs met.
The work will include writing, compiling and reading news and information bulletins, research, recording, interviewing and editing. It will be of particular relevance to those who have recently completed radio production or journalism courses. Fluent French is not essential although a working knowledge of the language would be helpful.
The project is a joint enterprise between the Universities of Sunderland and Teesside, with support from the French Business Council for the North East. It starts in late June and continues until mid-September, 2005.
Successful applicants will join one of three groups of graduate students working on the project for a month each. If you would like to register your interest and find out more, write or email project manager Geoff Sargieson, explaining briefly what you could offer to the project. Please include a CV. Interviews are scheduled to take place in Sunderland and Middlesbrough in mid May.
