Ben's two bedroom extension? I'd be interested to hear if anything special was done to tie it in with the rest of the house, i.e. anything special done to allow movement etc.

Thats probably my poor photograpy.
The frames are held together with inch thick wooden pegs which project slightly at either end and are wedged tight. The sweet chestnut is flexible enough to allow some movement.

It's taken from the back and you usually see the front side of the house on TV.

Same as the original house then? I thought as the wood in the original house had seasoned a bit the new would might need something special. If I ever manage to build my own timber house I'd like to do so on a sort of modular idea, one room per year starting off with something about the size of Ben's workshop.
