ApplesProbably the wrong place for this... but ....
I'm looking for apples. Well, a place that grows/sells them. Preferably not too far from me (yes, I'll drive a bit!). I'm planning to sort out some to store so that come jan/feb DS isn't suffering from a lack of fruit intake (because the boy would live on apples if we let him  ).
Last year there was a chap selling outside the deli in Buckingham about this time, but the deli people say that they don't have him coming this year.
And I'm drawing a blank by the usual methods (google, the farmthingy 'site, yellow pages, 'local' farmers market (i.e. not that local and a pain to get to even in the car....) The local vegbox scheme don't know of anyone either.
So can anyone here 'help' with suggestions?

Yep, i put an offer for them on freecycle and loads of folk came scrumping. I'm a bit far for you tho' and it's very late for most apples now.

Oooo - well, my parents can't be *that* far from you... I'm due to make a parental visit.... 
Seriously though - was the apple harvest in this area particularly poor this year? The 'wild' apples were abundant, but so were all the other people foraging for them  and ds found that stash and ate them

very welcome, I hope you can use some windfalls after the last few days weather! I think juicing will be our next task.
One of our best ever years, mainly because the thirty trees we planted in the 1990s after a 'hurricane' took out a quarter of the old orchard are now fully grown. I just wish we had more spare time to harvest, sell or preserve them.
