BarterA couple of people have asked me about my website (honestly).
FareXchange is a barter company where you trade something you have got to reduce the price of something that we've got. The bad news is that there is always just a little cash involved; the good news is that you get your stuff first! This allows you to supply genuine surplus products.
Hotel accommodation is a big part of what we offer; we deal with over 15000 hotels and B&B virtually worldwide (most budget ranges too). So here, just for example, is a typical transaction ... suppose you want a hotel in Florida for a family holiday. If the "price" is quoted at $2000, then you'd only pay 25% of that - $500.
THEN, you'd owe the balance $1500 in "something", perhaps something you make, unwanted gifts or even cut herbs / plants out of your garden. If I agree to take them, then I've either got to want them, or find a buyer who wants them.
Everything is valued at full retail price for barter deals.
If you'd like to know more, please PM me with what you might have/want, or register same information on http://www.farexchange.com/moreinfo.asp

Sounds fascinating and should appeal to people here, how long's it been going?

Does your website have a page that explains what its all about? I just got straight to a contact details page. Might be a good plan to have an overview and some examples or you may find a lot of people don't get any further with the site than I did

Thre's a business people's site that offers something similar isn't there? Can't remember what it's called but it's been hugely successful, I know a fella that's bought rolex watches, a holiday apartment, all sorts, for peanuts. He imports Audio/TV equi[pment from the Far East at knock downprices for a living so tends to offer home cinemas etc in return.
I like the sound of yours, it sounds friendly and a little more reachable to ordinary folks! Good luck

Sounds great. Does the Taxman worry?

You're not going to be crass enuf to name my opposition are ya!
Big difference is that FareXchange is happy to trade with individuals and smaller companies who are put off by the joining fees, transaction fees and monthly fees charged by our competition.

In the interest of openness who are your competition?

You can go to homepage (in signature) and get onto the travel site. Other parts are passsword protected for "members". No cost to become a member, I just need to know what you want/have in order to open an account

LETS systems are also a form of barter but I regard them as complementary more than competitive.
