looks like where i just collected some bays!
had a meeting in Kent and popped into a woodland by the side of the road- was amazed, I filled an IKEA bag (all i had in the car). looks like a stunning year for bays down south.

And there was me thinking it reminded me of Thetford forest.
Truffle, I'd love to know which woods you stopped by, we've only had a few Bays and Ceps in our part of Kent.

in the forest for about 2 weeks now you can pick as many bays as you like,theres still some ceps about as well.

Best late season for various species of Suillus and Boletus around here that I can recall.

Yep- Mereworth woods, they've also got a lovely area of old chestnut coppice.
Weird- so good for bays down south, but not many around up here...

bays are still about this is yesterdays breakfast,it was a bit rich just bays and haggis grilled,should have looked up Roger Phillips Wild food.
