Great pictures and some of the colours are surprising!

Brilliant photos, but not sure they are as photogenic close too. The colours of some bees are interesting. We see a lot of different patterns on bumble bees in the woods, but all ours are combinations of yellow, white, brown and black of course.

That link is very impressive Tavascarow. I wonder if the reason there are fewer bees is because they have been destroying the comb. I am surprised that by now they haven't started wearing at least some sort of veil, but perhaps it is all tied in with their culture. Having done some research into 17th century beekeeping it seems in the UK we didn't use veils, but they did on the continent. So a thing for soft foreigners no doubt at the time.
