Bee frames questionI brought home some frames to make up for my new hive and forgot the nails. Would there be any problem with using brass panel pins?

Frame nails are very thin - which I guess reduces the chance of splitting the frame. If your panel pins are long enough and the wood doesn't split then I'd assume they're fine.

That's what we've gone with. Fingers crossed no-one posts to say that all the bees in a fifty mile radius will die or summat.

Corr brass nails, thats right posh.
Your bees will definately get airs & graces.
As has been said as long as they don't split the wood.
They will last a lot longer than steel gimp pins.
When your nailing the bottom bars don't nail across but up into the side bar.
I bought some second hand frames that where nailed wrong so I couldn't slip one of the bottom bars off to rewax.
Took ages to do a job that should have only taken a minute or two.
