Beesuit suppliersMaybe we need a beekeepers resources page? (apologies if there is one I haven't found)
We're in the birthday season and I've asked for a beesuit and to be allowed to have a key to the beehouse
Up to now we've worked together all week but kept our 'interests' completely separate so I haven't intruded on the beekeeping, and OH doesn't touch the vegetable garden but now we're working apart and happier to share together our home tasks. It's 12 years since we bought a beesuit (full cover) and designs and suppliers have evolved, and I'd like my own rather than whatever's lying around for visitors - what do you recommend, and are colours better than white? At least we'd know then which one's mine!

Thoroughly recommend http://www.bbwear.co.uk/ - Excellent quality suits and cheaper than BJ Sheriff - I like the taupe coloured one - the bee's ignore my daughter in it completely

how's the polyester version, anyone got one? Also, I'm not in the proportions they do and if it fitted me bosomwise it would have leg lengths that were way too long

Well BBWear do tops and bottoms as separates so you could get them seperately
However I don't fit in their suits either so I bought a green boiler suit from ebay and bought a separate hood from BBWear - Works well

I use a BBwear vest & can't find any faults.
The guy used to work for Sherriff before setting up on his own (both based in Cornwall).
I use an old heavy cotton boiler suit over it, cheaper than buying a full suit or jacket.

If you go the 'heavy cotton boiler suit' route, remember to check to see if it has slits in the side so that mechanics can get to their wallets and hankies and if it does, SEW THEM UP.
Just sayin'.

I went for a Sheriff Apiarist suit with leather gauntlets. All in one piece. Handy pockets. Supposedly good quality.
The seams came apart on mine at the crotch after just a month and my husband got stung 15 times thru his during inspection of an angry hive.

I sewed Velcro onto the pockets of my boiler suit when I realised there was big holes in the side of my suit - thankfully I found it before the bees did
