Bellowhead - a great night out!

For those of you who haven't yet seen Bellowhead...or perhaps have never heard of them - go and see them!

A fantastic young, funky 11-piece folk group. They're currently on tour and we saw them last night at our local theatre in Cardigan. It's the third time we've seen them and they're fantastic!

Here's a clip... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LuYSfQVqZg&feature=related

And here's their website: http://www.bellowhead.co.uk/

It's really a truly great night out. Very Happy

Theatr Mwldan?
A brilliant little venue, always has an interesting programme, really varied and some excellent, world class performers.

We saw June Tabor there a couple of years ago and were utterly mesmerised.

Well needless to say the two Bellowhead CDs are fab. But also needless to say, listening to them on the stereo doesn't do them justice really - much better on the stage! This is true of any a band of course but particularly so of a big band.

I will say however than listening on CD, there is a possibility of Jon Boden's singing style becoming slightly tiresome after a while - don't know why. But only on the stereo - certainly not when I saw them last Sunday.

I know what you mean Andrew. He doesn't have the best voice in the world...but coupled with his on-stage persona and mini-tambourine it's great. Very Happy

Ooh, I see they're playing at the Buxton Opera House on October 27th...

Second that!

Tried to go to Shrewsbury FF but could no get the time. Spiers and Boden did do Bromyard which was great, but the Full band is something you really have tio see live.

His voice is very unusual, all the better for that I say!
Azura Skye

ooh they look like a lot of fun! Glad you had a good time : )

Their new album is rather cracking too.
