Best UK edible wild plant & herb guide?Just as it says in the title, can anyone recommend a really good field guide for identifying edible wild plants in the UK? Are there any comprehensive photo identification guides?
Thanks,

Several members here will be able to help you with this one. I expect cab or one of the others will be along shorlty to give you some recommendations. Good luck.

You can't really do it all with one book. There are books on wild food, books on identifying wild plants, but no one source that does both very well.
You'll learn more on a few walks with someone who knows what they're doing than you will in a year with a selection of books.
They're not the most comprehensive, but I favour Roger Phillips books on trees, wild flowers and mushrooms over all of the others. His 'Wild Food' book is also stunning, but perhaps less influential than Richard Mabeys 'food for free'.

Food for Free is good, but as Cab says, nothing beats going out with someone.
We have a few meets coming up, including the foodie one in April where we can have a Spring forage walk.
