Book recommendation: 'American Wife' by Curtis SittenfieldI've just finished this novel and it was excellent. Loosely-ish based on former First Lady Laura Bush, it follows the life path of Alice Blackwell from an ordinary mid-west background, across the decades, to the Whitehouse.
I picked it up because the Guardian had recommended it...and they were absolutely right.
So, if you're going on holiday soon, or just want a good book to read, do try this one.
