Brown Wheel Bins.

Under orders from Kaz, I've just ordered a brown recycling wheely bin from the council. The lady at the other end of the phone said that it would arrive in three weeks time. I told her that I didn't realise that they were that much slower than the green ones. Rolling Eyes

Did you ask for the kitchen caddy too?

We got a card from the council through our door last year asking us if we wanted a brown bin. It turned up about a month ago. Not heard anything about kitchen caddies though, are they just extra bins for the kitchen or table top boxes ?

We got a green bin delivered last week for garden waste. Bit pointless as we compost everything anyway, but we had to have it delivered and if we don't want it we have to phone them to come and collect it which they will do within the next 6 weeks. Seems a lot of faffing around to me so I've decided that it will become a pig food store until the Council decide they want it back.

The caddy is a small container that you can keep in the kitchen for the food scraps & then empty into the big brown bin.

Pretty much the same as the empty icecream tub I use for tea bags and veg peelings for the compost then.

Drilled a hole in the front near the bottom and use it as a water but for the greenhouse.

What are brown recycling bins used for? Animal waste? We only have green (garden waste) and blue (tins, bottles, paper etc) here.

The brown ones here are for garden waste & green ones for non recycables. We have three boxes blue, orange & green for tins, glass & paper.

My parents in law live under a different council and they have 3 full size wheelie bins green, black & grey. Not sure which is for what though.

Our brown bins are for garden & kitchen waste basicaly any thing thats compostable inc meat & bones.
