Cabbages etc.Why have all my brassicas gone to seed?
I thought it was usually down to dry weather.
Even my pak choi has flowers.

Funny, some of my foot-high broccoli is also flowering and it certainly shouldn't be, haven't had any spears yet!

My pak choi went from seed-leaves to flowering
My brassicas (this is maybe the 4th attempted sowing?) have yet to reach more than 4 leaves. Rocket and sea kale bolted, barely any leaves on them!
There's a line of thought that if the environment is being a bit crap then it's better to have all your babies ASAP in case you get killed, whereas if it's nice and cushy you can afford to bulk yourself up a bit before reproducing. Applies to plants, animals, people.....

I think pak choi will bolt if sown before the longest day. All my brassicas are doing great guns so far
Last year my March sown PSB was sprouting by the end of July!! That was weird.
I think this year is of the scale for weird plant behavior
