Celandines, how can I get rid of them?Theyre everywhere in my garden and I want them out of the veg patch,Id rather they were not in the lawn but as its a job lot of weeds with a haircut hanging out with lots of moss and a bit of sad grass maybe thats not so critical but how do they spread about the place?

If I remember rightly, they are massively polyploid (have lots of sets of chromosomes) , so must reproduce vegetatively via runners or something.
I like them though.

I love celandines--but not in a veg bed. They are like buttercups and unless you get every scrap up will spread from any little tubercules that are left which is why alot of people[not me] resort to weedkiller. The only other options are keep digging up or a very thick mulch 4"-6" will discourage them.

They reproduce with little bulbs/corms - think of their other name of pilewort!
Being dark brown and small they are just not seen and can be spread around veg gardens, flower beds every time they are dug or weeded
I like them in my garden and lawn - they are only present above ground for a short time each spring
