CharcoalI have been playing with a kiln and changing designs, after Mk 4 We have finaly got it right, we got about 40 kgs out of burn 4. Pretty decent stuff!

Which method are you using?

I am wanting to make a retort burner using clamp top steel barrels & metal pipe to reburn the gasses.

Pea's hubby and I cut the bottom off of an old oil tank, and stacked a measured shape of ash wood, then lowered the tank onto the stack, after lighting a fire in the middle of the stack. We put a 6ft chimney at ground level at either end and let it burn for around 12hrs. Sorry I havn't any pics, they are all on Pea's camera. I Have emailed Pea and asked her to post some pics on this thread.
