Charges for domestic waste?

the Have Your Say bit in response is even more interesting. The government and councils of this country have completely shot selves in foot as any initiative like this is seen as a stealth tax of sorts - I blame the Daily Wail!

Councils are seen as profligate and wasteful. There is a frequent moan of 'this would be good if our council could manage to collect the recycled waste' or provide the householder with the tools to reduce waste.

Flytipping is seen as a consequence of this policy.

Personally we could benefit as we've done a lot to reduce our waste but will we have to lock our bin to avoid it being filled by others?

There was a woman being asked about this on the news tonight. She said 'it's a realy bad idea, I have no control over the waste I produce'.

As it is said:

Genius has its limits but stupidity knows no bounds!!!!!

These are all stealth taxes. Don't bother trying to educate folks to do the right thing or subsidise & reward those who do, just tax everybody instead. What's the bet that none of the tax collected goes back into recycling facilities
