Cheap Caravan Wanted. Touring/static/campervan

For my pending move onto self-build plot.
Anything considered.
Ideally located Herts or Beds area.
Ideally below £1000 but could stretch to more for the right thing.

Touring van is first choice because of transport costs. I have places I can store it till needed.

Second choice is static but transport costs might not make this viable. I have a place nearby to store it and transport onto site when I need it or it would need transporting within a one week window in 2 or 3 months.

Would also consider non-running /short mot/ no mot, campervan with 6 foot internal headroom, but transport costs would have to be considered.

Don't know if this is any good. These people do caravan salvage and sell the vans off cheap! Smile

Ta. Not local but worth registering with.
Nothing for sale at moment. You'd think they'd have a few water damaged ones after recent events Smile

I found this on Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/showmans-caravan-/251087624844?pt=UK_Campers_Caravans_Motorhomes&hash=item3a75fd1a8c#ht_500wt_1202
It would be excellent accommodation but at 11ton and 30foot + tow arm, transport and maneuvering onto/around site will be an issue.

I've been watching ebay for few months and suitable vans are frequently up. Thought I'd try here tho

Cool.
Looks like that'll do the job.
I thought you had mentioned a static on here before.
I'll pm you later about details.
I need to take a drive your way to pop in the junk shop on the old a10 - he's got a few woodburners.
Hope you'll have some eggs this time.

Or it could be another reason to buy a digger Very Happy
Subject to transportation logistics it looks like Kirsty's static will be the one.

There's a few companies advertising transport on eBay Wink
leggy

For the money that's a tidy static Wink T.G

I was thinking the same leggy. Very good VFM.

We have a old static, sold it several times but when it comes to the removal element all bets are off. We have easy access, tarmac approach wide gates large area to move it and load it but the actual cost of uplift and delivery tends to be a bit of an *ouch* factor for some. Even when we've only accepted weighing in money price for it.

So we are slowly...slllllllowly Rolling Eyes taking it to bits ready for squishing, tis a shame really.
RichardW

We bought a 12' wide static & needed it moving about 45 miles. It cost just over £450 just for the delivery. onemanband

Yep. I thought VFM aswell so have viewed and bought Very Happy

I can pick minor faults with it but for that money I could buy a lot worse and spend a few hundred in diesel checking others out. Plus Kirstyfen is willing to hold it till I need to move it. Plus I purchased some venison, pheasant, goat and eggs off Kirsty whilst I was there Very Happy

Not sure if it will leave site in one piece when I've finished with it - at that price it will be no great loss for a few years accommodation.

First haulage quote is £450. About 50 miles.
Any haulier recomendations - Essex, Herts, Beds area.?
Nick

Haulier auction site. When my brain wakes up I'll remember the name.

Someone else will first.
