We're lucky to have several cherry trees here also. Although, they are quite small and bitter. I've taken a tip from a book and have stuffed a load in a couple of bottles with some sugar and topped them up with brandy. They'll be ready just in time for Christmas and new year! I'll let you know how it turns out
I also did the same with some blackcurrants and vodka as I didn't have enough for jam. Smells just like ribena so far....

I have been doing a similar thing for apple trees for a few years.
