Chestnut Cake
Ingredients
- 4oz butter
- 5oz self raising flour
- 2 oz ground almonds
- 3/4 jar sweetened chestnut puree
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp sunflower seeds
- few drops vanilla essence
- milk
Recipe
- combine softened butter and flour. Add remaining ingredients, mixing in enough milk to make soft paste.
- Put in lined, shallow 8inch diameter tin. Cook at 190 C for approx 30 mins (till skewer comes out clean)
Comments
Quite crumbly when warm so allow to cool fully in tin, then it should slice well. Freeze some if necessary.
