CLA Game Fair 2008

Not been to one of these before, but have had a fab day.

Me and eldest got to have a go at fishing and got given own little rods at the end which we're keen to try out.

Youngest had a go at archery, Tim liked the falconry and birds of prey. Long and hot day but well worth it! (and its on tomorrow if anyone fancies going)

Just got back from a great day at the fair. It was a trifle warm and I managed to completely exhaust the kids Smile (they are now in bed and I am on the ziderrr).

Good gundog displays (especially Ian Openshaw) and some excellent things happening in the main arena including the Kings Troop RHA doing a short display and firing their 13lb field gun BOOM BOOM BOOM. The woodland management and gamekeeping area was really good and some great stands (more ££ spent) and then I managed to convince mrsSnozzer that I needed that new shotgun on offer with a £150 saving Cool

A chance meeting with Bryn Parry the man who launched the Help for Heroes charity and very glad to see a lot of stall holders wearing the wristbands and collecting money for H4H Cool

Funniest thing was all the lobsters trekking slowly back to their cars, did anyone check the weather and take suncream with them? Laughing

Bryn Parry - Isn't he the cartoonist guy?

My father luuuurves his work Very Happy

Didn't get up to the main arena. You'd need two days to do it all really

enjoy it but as Snozzer said sun cream ( plus comfy shoes and water - cos the latter was expensive to buy. Glad we took our own)

Fill up your water bottles from the dozens of dog watering points. Hilarious to see all the springers and labs being held under taps to cool down (plus a few kids as well) Smile
